Vincent Van Goghs Self Portrait (reverse)

This is called “the potato peeler”. It was created a year before going to France. You can see how his work loved up to the ‘dark’ quality his work was given then.

Most people would never even look at the back of the self portrait (previous post). When people would come up to me to talk about the self portrait I would have to tell them about the back.

There was a man that would come every once in a while to take a pic of it. He tried to once a month– he did this for 2 years. I asked him why he did it. He replied “because there is always new art to be found in each persons reaction to the piece.”
