More…. Van Gogh….

When working at the museum, I would see many people just snap pictures of this without knowing the full story of it.
When mixing his paint, Van Gogh didn’t use colorfast pigment.
SO what appears to be white in the background was actually a hot pink when it was first completed. I can only imagine the subtle nuances of color play within the flowers. He then gave it to his mother– who put it on her wall– in direct sunlight. This isnt the only painting of his that this happened to.
